Professional Biography |

Gene specializes in the area of transforming organizational leadership, particularly as it impacts organizations’ growth and development. His work with first time CEOs and CEOs entering new companies is occupying a good portion of his time at the present. His continues his interest in equipping Boards and executive leaders of non-profit organizations, especially those involved in the organizational incubator he has co-founded within the Genetic Alliance (www.geneticalliance.org). He also continues to bridge the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds through his involvement with Leaders’ Quest (www.leadersquest.org). He has co-founded four companies as well as developed executive leadership in start-ups, companies in transition, non-profits, and government agencies. The most recent example is Genomic Health, Inc. (www.genomichealth.com) which he co-founded in 2000. There in his role as VP of Organizational Development for almost four years he implemented the organizational vision for developing a high performance culture that values people. Genomic Health went public in 2005 as the first genomic applications company to deliver a clinically validated, breast cancer diagnostic test effectively assessing the risk of recurrence of breast cancer. As one of the pioneers of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Gene was the first NLP trainer to live and work in Europe where he co-founded its first training institute and helped develop a network of NLP institutes in six European countries. He continues to work in England with Sue Knight Spencer in training for business applications of NLP (www.sueknight.co.uk). He first moved to Copenhagen in 1981 to work with Connector Consulting, and subsequently developed his own European consulting practice. |
